Will the COVID situation allow NEET and JEE Main exam to take place?

It is expected that the schedule for the NEET and JEE 2021 will be provided in two or three days.

Students want to begin their college journey and arecurious to know when NEET and JEE Main exam will be held, which is a majorstep to begin their further studies. Recently, a meeting was held a few daysback and the authorities of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health reviewedthe COVID situation in India so that they may come up to a decision to prevailthe National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 and the Joint EntranceExamination (JEE) 2021.

According to the meeting, it is expected that the exam ismost likely to be postponed and it is to be kept in mind that the NEET 2021 willbe now held on August 1, 2021, and the application forms are yet to be issued bythe National Testing Agency (NTA).

Usually, 60 days of time-lapse is provided by the NTA betweenapplication form and exam so that all the requirements are completed in timesuch as allowing exam centers, arrangement of seats, admit card roll-out,changes in application etc.

In 2020, NEET was held in September and this time chancesare that the exam will be postponed till September. The numbers of students whogive this entrance exam on average are 14 lakh. As an amendment, in 2020 anincrease in the number of exam centers was increased to 3,843 from 2,546 bythe National Testing Agency.

Considering the information about the Joint EntranceExamination (JEE) 2021, it is not really clear when the exam will be held.According to the news, the Union Ministry of Education is predicted to conductboth the entrance exams between July and August. It is expected that the schedulefor the NEET and JEE 2021 will be provided in two or three days.

Due to the COVID-19 situation the CBSE Board Examinationfor grade 12 was canceled after being postponed many times as the authorities couldn’ttake the risk of putting the lives of so many children in danger.

The CBSE has decided the marking scheme by consideringthe marks scored by the students in 10th, 11th and the exams thatthe schools had conducted in 12th. The result is expected to bedeclared on 31st July 2021.
