Rishab Pant, Vijay Shankar and Rahane in race for selection in World Cup

"Pant is an explosive batter, Vijay Shankar is also being seen as an all-rounder besides the batsman", says Chief Selector Prasad

New Delhi: India's Chief Selector MSK Prasad has said three players namely Rishabh Pant, Vijay Shankar and Ajinkya Rahane are under consideration for this year's World Cup in England. 

On Sunday, during an interview the Chief Selector Prasad said, ''The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fixed the last date for the announcement of the 15-member team for the World Cup and considering that Indian selectors are keeping an eye on each player and before the final date, the 15-member Indian team will be announced."

When asked about Pant Prasad said, "If Pant is an explosive batter, Vijay Shankar is also being seen as an all-rounder besides the batsman. During this New Zealand series, Vijay has impressed everyone with his brilliant performance and strengthen his bid for the World Cup."
