In episode 5 of Mandala Murders, Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor who plays 'CIB' officer Rhea Thomas informs Vikram Singh, a Delhi Police officer played by Vaibhav Raj Gupta that she always sees a shadow of a little girl following her.
The girl was accidentally killed when a team of CIB raided a farmhouse in New Delhi where Punjab-based gangsters were hiding. A shootout broke out and in that the little girl died on the spot. There is where Punjab's reference was used in Mandala Murders.
Ananya Bhardwaj, a major politician, at last, turns out to be what she really is to Vikram Singh (Vaibhav Raj Gupta), an Ayast, a hidden member of the mysterious Ayast Mandal.
She reveals that Vikram has roots in the last part of the Mandal, which is referred to as the blood of the miracle son. She initiates a blood transfusion between Vikram and Yast in the hope that Yast would wake up. But the process stops suddenly. This is the moment Ananya understands that the wish of Vasudha (the mother of Vikram), which happened 20 years ago to see her son healed, has had its way fulfilled, and as a result, Vikram survives.
