Recently, a new face is creating buzz in Bollywood, and people are loving and adoring her - Aneet Padda, actress who starred opposite Ahaan Panday in the newly released Saiyaara. Aneet is a 22-year-old and hails from Amritsar, Punjab. She is also connected to Delhi.
Aneet is garnering appreciation from all over the world for her performance in Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara. She is now known as the national crush of India because of her adorable smile and striking beauty.
However, it is to be noted that before achieving this much praise, she was leading an ordinary life as a student at the University of Delhi. But, here the question is how a simple girl from Amritsar, a student from DU, reached the silver screen?
Aneet Padda joined Jesus and Mary College (JMC), Delhi University, and pursued a Humanities degree, according to the information from various reports and her LinkedIn profile. Along with this, she completed her studies at Spring Dale Senior School.
During her tenure at JMC, she balanced her academics and the auditions and kept gradually growing her quest to be an actress. She is also attached to the JMC Students Council, which she still follows on her Instagram page. It is at this point that the young Aneet Padda started developing the dream of making a career in acting.
Aneet was born in October 2002 in Amritsar, Punjab. She belongs to a humble family and has had a passion for acting since childhood. Her passion and zeal for action eventually took her to Mumbai, where she started her career through television advertisements. According to the Yash Raj Films (YRF) website, “Her early experience in the advertising world taught her valuable lessons about the entertainment industry, but it was her educational journey that truly shaped her.”
Her continuous dedication led her to the silver screen, and consequently, she got her role in Mohit Suri’s romantic movie Saiyaara.
In 2022, Aneet Padda debuted in Bollywood as the actress of the film Salaam Venky, directed by Revathi and featuring Kajol. Her part was small, but she got recognition. Her next role was as Roohi Ahuja in the Amazon Prime web series Big Girls Don’t Cry (2024) with heavyweight actors like Pooja Bhatt and Raima Sen.
The Gen Z audience could relate especially to her manner of acting. Nevertheless, it was later that her audition for the film Saiyaara by Mohit Suri impressed so much that she broke through.
The film, released on July 18, 2025, shot her to fame nationwide and even earned her the title of National Crush.
