While most of the people in India are lavishing praise on film-maker Aditya Dhar for making a hard-hitting movie Dhurandhar, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has accused the film-maker of making a propaganda movie. Dhruv Rathee who is known as staunch critic of the Modi Government has compared Aditya Dhar's movie Dhurandhar as a propaganda movie just like 'film-maker Lani Refenstal made Nazi propaganda during Hitler's time'.
Rathee on Sunday posted a video and in just 24 hours, it has got 10 million views on YouTube. The video was posted with the title 'Reality of Dhurandhar Movie'.
The YouTuber in his video also addressed a section of fans asking him why he is having problem with Dhurandhar that exposes Pakistan but not with other spy movies especially in the YRF universe like Pathaan, etc.
Addressing the outrage faced by Hrithik Roshan after he gave Dhurandhar's review, Rathee said, "What Hrithik Roshan meant that even though the movie is propaganda, it was very good.. I will say however the film is good, it is a propaganda. During Hitler's time, film-maker Lani Refenstal made Nazi propaganda movies like Triumph of the will."
"The technique by which the film was made was appreciated quite a lot. These films made on Nazi propaganda were also box office success in Germany. Films like The Taj Story, The Bengal Files could not succeed because they were not upto the mark. But, Dhurandhar is a highly engaging movie that showcase Indian agencies hire criminals. No nationalist intelligence officer will agree to it."
Rathee further went onto to claim that "Aditya Dhar got involved in spreading propaganda so that it showcased what Pakistan has always accused India of doing i.e. India send its agent to Pakistan to carry out crimes. The reality is the Government of India has consistently denied such claims. In 2012, India denied sending Surjeet to Pakistan as Intelligence Spy. In 2016 as well, India rejected claims of having spies in Balochistan."
Dhruv Rathee said, "Dhurandhar movie presents such character (Hamza) as a hero. Now, you will question YRF universe also showcase Indian spies working in Pakistan. But, Dhurandhar movie has multiple times showcased that is based on real events".
"Real footages of 26//11 attacks have been showed. Even real recordings of terrorists and their handlers have been used. Even characters shown in Lyari town are actually real. Like Babu Dakait, Rehman Dakait and even SP Chaudhry Aslam."
"Film showcase real life scenarios but wittily adds fictions in it. For example, it has showcased that India's fictional agent was involved in encounter of Rehman Dakait who was killed by Pakistani police led by Chaudhry Aslam. The movie showcase that he brought Rehman Dakait to hospital but in reality there is no such report. So audience are not able to understand what is fact or fiction."
"Aditya Dhar has included fiction in middle of some realities just to spread propaganda. Even if you remove the propaganda, the movie still remains thrilling. "
"The film showcased that a Cabinet Minister flagged faulty currency note plates. Then, that machine reached Pakistan. But, there is no iota of evidence. There is no such news available in public domain. After Modi Government came to power in 2014 why it did not investigate it and jailed the minister? Why there is no mention of the Minister for past so many years?"
"The movie has showcased India had intelligence inputs about 26/11 attacks. This is true. UK's defense and security think tank- RUSI in its report has mentioned that there were some intelligence inputs. Since the input were not specific, Police and Coast Guard could not take action. If you term Manmohan Singh government traitor due to 9/11 attacks, then Atal Bihari Bajpayee and the Modi Government will also come under same category. Aditya Dhar is not foolish but he a Dhurandhar in running propagandas."
