2 days liquor-meat sale ban in Jalandhar on Nagar Kirtan Routes, 3 days ban in 5 other districts

Keeping religious sentiments in view, district administration of various districts of Punjab including Jalandhar have announced dry day and meat sale ban

Punjab is celebrating 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. To mark 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Government of Punjab has organised multiple cultural programs, lights shows, etc. Lakhs of devotees are expected to head to Sri Anandpur Sahib to seek blessings on 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Furthermore, Bhagwant Mann Government has also called a special Vidhan Sabha Session in Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Now, keeping religious sentiments in view, multiple district administration of various districts of Punjab have announced dry day and meat sale ban on Nagar Kirtan Routes in Jalandhar.

Liquor and meat sale banned in Jalandhar for two days

Additional District Magistrate Amaninder Kaur, exercising the powers under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023, has banned the sale of meat and liquor on the route of Nagar Kirtan to be held on 21st and 22nd November 2025 in Jalandhar on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

5 other districts ban liquor and meat sale on Nagar Kirtan routes

Liquor and meat shops will remain closed in 5 other districts of Punjab as well. This decision has been taken in view of the grand Nagar Kirtan to be held on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

The district administrations of Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Ferozepur have declared 'Day Day' between November 20 and 22 in their respective areas.

Now under this, the authorities have issued orders to keep liquor, meat, egg and tobacco shops closed that will be in Nagar Kirtan routes.
