"5% trying to overpower 80%", Mariton Hotel MD approaches police and Akal Takht after brawl

The hotel has six partners: Dr. Paramjit Singh Marwaha, Inderpal Singh, Gautam Kukreja, Taranjit Kaur, Inderjit Singh, and Daksh Dua.

CCTV footage of a heated altercation between partners at the famous Marriton Hotel in Jalandhar, Punjab, surfaced online. After the video went viral, hotel's MD, Dr. Paramjit Singh Marwaha held a press conference. Giving details, the partner stated that the altercation occurred over a push to impose his authority. The victim stated that the hotel has six partners: Dr. Paramjit Singh Marwaha, Inderpal Singh, Gautam Kukreja, Taranjit Kaur, Inderjit Singh, and Daksh Dua.

Dr. Paramjit Singh Marwaha says that this whole incident is of the 5% stakeholder at the Hotel trying to overpower the 80% stakeholder, he also blames the 15% stakeholder and labels them as someone who do not have any stand and keep on juggling between the two sides.

Shedding some light on the recent brawl he explains that the 5% stakeholder group wants to retain control over the decision making and overpower the 80% partners. He claims that they want to take over all the decision making of the hotel, unlike how traditionally a Managing Director (MD) is the one to do so. Talking further he claims that he has given the freedom to all the partners to come and visit him anytime and get whatever details they require at any time.

He says that such move suggests that they want to create a distasteful image of the hotel and they only want to keep everything under their control. He also makes some big claims stating that the 5% stakeholders for the past 6 months have been putting forth illegal demands that he refuses to disclose. He also alleges that for the past 6 months the opposite party have been continuously trying to sabotage them with various attempts such as giving a false application to the bank to freeze their accounts.

MD Marwah shares details of the incident

Sharing what unfolded during the night of the incident, he explains that he went to hotel to take stock of a function at the hotel being a MD, accompanied by GM and other partners. It was just a routine check to look after basic arrangements of the function. He explains that when he entered the hotel, he finds one of the partners, Dua sitting there, and he immediately retreats. He says he left, but Yash Dua’s brother Gulshan Dua followed him and started to abuse him verbally. Following this verbal abuse he shares that he and his son was later harassed by 8-10 people. He claims that their turbans were removed and they were heckled. Reportedly, his son was injured during this confrontation.

He again affirms that, the 80% of the stakeholders stand strong and it is only the 5% group that is causing troubles.

He also informs that he has already contacted prominent Sikh organizations and reached out to them. He says that he has already filled a complaint with the police and is preparing to file a compliant at the Akal Takht as well.
