Jalandhar: AAP's Punjab In-charge and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia on Monday reviewed the party’s booth-level organisational work during a meeting with booth in-charges and block presidents in Jalandhar. Jalandhar Central Halka in-charge Nitin Kohli was also present at the meeting.
The meeting focused on strengthening the party organisation at the booth level, reviewing the work completed so far and assessing preparations for the upcoming elections. Sisodia interacted with booth in-charges and block presidents and discussed ways to further strengthen coordination and grassroots-level activities.
Addressing party workers, Sisodia said booth-level organisation is the foundation of a strong political party. He stressed that effective work at every booth would help the party expand its reach and strengthen its organisation.
Sisodia also praised Nitin Kohli for his work and contribution as Jalandhar Central Halka in-charge. He expressed satisfaction over the work being carried out at the booth level and appreciated the efforts being made to connect people with the Punjab government’s welfare schemes.
During the meeting, discussions were also held on various initiatives of the Punjab government, including the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana for women, Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, free electricity and more.
Nitin Kohli said the organisational work in Jalandhar Central was progressing smoothly under Sisodia’s guidance and supervision. He said the focus was on strengthening the party from the booth level and ensuring that workers remained connected with people and government schemes.
Kohli said, “Under the guidance of Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP's Punjab In-charge Manish Sisodia, the organisational work is progressing very well. Our focus is on strengthening every booth, connecting with people and ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach those who need them.”
During the meeting, AAP Punjab State Secretary Sandeep Saini spoke about the various development works and welfare initiatives being undertaken by the Punjab government. District President Amritpal Singh briefed the gathering about the party’s activities and organisational work in the district. Also present on the occasion were Aadil, Advisor to the Punjab Government; Ramneek Singh Randhawa, Lok Sabha In-charge, Jalandhar and Chairman, Improvement Trust Jalandhar; and Dr Amit, Sangathan Secretary, Jalandhar Central Halka.
Sisodia also welcomed the Punjab government’s move to regulate fee hikes in private unaided schools. The Punjab Regulation of Fee of Unaided Educational Institutions (Amendment) Bill-2026 was unanimously passed by the Punjab Legislative Assembly.
Sisodia said the legislation would protect parents from arbitrary fee increases. Under the amendment, private unaided schools will generally not be allowed to increase fees by more than five per cent over the previous year’s rates.
During his Jalandhar visit, Sisodia also took a dig at the possibility of a BJP-SAD alliance, saying that the people of Punjab had already rejected both parties separately and would now get an opportunity to reject them together.
