Komal Sharma, the doctor sister of India's star cricketer Abhishek Sharma, who lives in Amritsar, Punjab, and Lovish Oberoi, a hosiery businessman from Ludhiana, will marry tomorrow (October 3) in Amritsar.
It is said to be love-cum-arrange marriage. Komal Sharma husband-to-be while talking to a Hindi daily said that he met Abhishek Sharma's sister via a common friend in Amritsar.
"Komal and I have a common friend in Amritsar. There was a party at her house. Komal and I also attended it. Until then, I had no idea that Komal was cricketer Abhishek Sharma's sister. A common friend introduced me to Komal." Lovish was quoted saying.
Lovish further said, "I liked Komal at first sight. We chatted briefly at the party, and we bonded quite well. After returning from the party, we connected on social media. We continued talking on social media for about two months."
"After this, we exchanged numbers. After social media, we also started talking on the phone. Through our conversations, we became good friends. We started sharing our feelings with each other. We didn't even realize when this friendship turned into love," added Lovish.
The Ludhiana-based businessman then revealed, "After we fell in love, we started meeting. Komal then revealed that her brother is a cricketer. However, by then, we had already decided to get married."
"Komal and I have decided to get married. Komal said, 'We won't get married without our families. Their consent is essential.' It was then decided that both of us would inform our families about our love."
"Komal told her family about our relationship. I also informed my family about our relationship. Komal's mother is also from a Sikh family. When Komal showed my photo to her mother, she said, 'Okay, call the boy.' Both families looked at the profiles of the boy and the girl and agreed to the marriage. My parents had no objections to the marriage. After this, we got engaged on May 29, 2025."
