A team of Central GST on Tuesday carried out raids at Jalandhar's famous Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba and the owner's house. Raid at Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba Jalandhar and the owner's home started at 8 am and it continued till late evening.
After completing the raid, a CGST official part of the raiding team briefed the media outside the Dhaba and informed that almost Rs 3 crore cash has been recovered. The official said that the cash has been recovered from the owner's house and property papers have recovered from Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba.
"A GST search was carried out today at Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba. We carried out searches at 8 am in the morning. We also carried out search at their residence. We recovered approximately ₹3 crore in cash and documents of properties whose estimated value also runs into crores. We also recovered some documents from Dhaba as well. 1 to 2 phones have been seized as well. The case pertains to GST theft. We recovered cash from home and property documents from Dhaba."
Another official talking the media on Tuesday afternoon had said that the matter is about GST theft.
When raid was ongoing, the GST official said, "The raid pertains to GST theft. Cash has also been found. More data on the amount of GST theft and cash recovered will be shared soon. Raid at Aggarwal Vaishno Dhaba as well as on their house took place."
