Nihang leaders allege firing and surveillance

Speaking to the media, a Nihang leader alleged that members of the rival faction stopped vehicles near their headquarters and attempted to attack them. He further alleged that firing took place during the confrontation.

The leader claimed that while the Nihang group was protesting, a suspicious person allegedly arrived near the site to keep watch on them. According to him, the person was detained by Nihang members and later taken away by the police.

Police deny firing allegations

Police, however, rejected the allegations of firing. SHO Manjit Kaur said the incident involved an old dispute between the two sides and described it as an altercation.

As the protest disrupted traffic, police diverted vehicles through alternative routes and appealed to the Nihang group to end the sit-in.
