Amritsar gets wider flight connectivity this winter; 8 international destinations on list

The updated timetable includes connectivity to seven domestic and eight international destinations, offering passengers more travel options from the holy city.

The winter flight schedule for Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar has been released, outlining 84 domestic and international arrival and departure entries for the winter season. The updated timetable includes connectivity to seven domestic and eight international destinations, offering passengers more travel options from the holy city.

According to the schedule, domestic and international operations have been divided equally, with 21 entries each for domestic arrivals, domestic departures, international arrivals and international departures. However, the 84 entries represent scheduled flight movements and should not be interpreted as 84 flights operating daily.

Delhi Leads Domestic Flight Connectivity

In the domestic sector, passengers will have flight options to Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Srinagar and Noida.

Delhi has the highest number of scheduled flight options from Amritsar, with services operated by Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo. Multiple connections to the national capital are scheduled throughout the day, giving passengers greater flexibility while planning their journeys.

Regular services to Mumbai and Pune have also been included in the winter timetable. Other destinations covered under the domestic network include Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Srinagar and Noida.

Eight International Destinations Included

The international flight schedule lists services connecting Amritsar with Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Singapore, Birmingham and Bangkok.

Kuala Lumpur features multiple services listed under Malaysia Airlines. However, passengers should note that the operating days and departure timings of certain flights will vary during different periods between November and March.

The schedule also includes international connections to major Gulf destinations such as Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Doha, along with services to Singapore and Birmingham.

Several Listed Flights Yet to Become Operational

Despite the expanded list of destinations, not all flights included in the winter schedule are currently operational.

These include Akasa Air's proposed Abu Dhabi service, Batik Air and AirAsia flights to Kuala Lumpur, and Thai Lion Air's Bangkok service. Their inclusion in the timetable does not necessarily mean that passengers can currently book or board these flights.

The variations in Malaysia Airlines' operating days and timings during different periods of the winter season are another important detail for passengers to consider while planning international travel.

Passengers Advised to Check Flight Status

Passengers travelling from Amritsar have been advised to confirm their flight timings and operational status directly with the respective airlines before leaving for the airport.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) also clarifies that the dates and timings mentioned in its flight schedules are tentative and should be verified with the airlines.

With Delhi leading domestic connectivity and eight international destinations featuring in the winter timetable, the updated schedule outlines a wider range of travel options from Amritsar. However, the actual availability of services will depend on individual airline operations.
