Roney Singh, a bodybuilder hailing from Dashmesh Nagar in Amritsar, is eyeing to participate in the upcoming season of Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss. Roney Singh, whose real name is Gulab Singh, is known for his powerful physique and tattoos. Roney's entire body is etched with tattoos. As per Roney, each tattoo on his body has a meaning.
The bodybuilder reveals that he has got tattoos of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh, etc so that people abroad and youths get to know his roots in Punjab.
"My name is Roney Singh. I currently live in Melbourne, but I originally belong to Dashmesh Nagar in Amritsar. I am 6 feet 3 inches tall. I strongly believe that when you work hard, you must also promote yourself, because if you don’t speak about your efforts, no one will know about them. This is one of the reasons I am deeply connected to tattoos.
There is a lot of racism abroad, and through these tattoos, I want to connect with my own people and show foreigners who we truly are. I have always been fond of tattoos, but at the same time, I never wanted to forget my culture. When someone asks whose tattoo it is, I can proudly say it is of Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh."
Roney further says, "I come from a large family with seven sisters and two brothers. I have completed my degree in Sports Science. At present, I am fully preparing to participate in Bigg Boss and have scheduled meetings with an agency on February 1 and 2."
Roney further stated that Bigg Boss can be a great platform for anyone whose ultimate goal is to reach the big screens i.e. movies.
A young Punjabi from a small village in Amritsar district is steadily carving a place for himself in Bollywood and the international entertainment industry through sheer hard work and determination. Roney Singh, a heavyweight bodybuilder, wrestler, and model, has emerged as an inspiration for thousands of youth with his remarkable journey from poverty and struggle to global recognition.
Roney Singh, whose real name is Gulab Singh, is known for his powerful physique and disciplined lifestyle. Belonging to a family of wrestlers, Roney lost his father—who served in the Punjab Police—in 1987. Losing his father at a very young age brought immense challenges, but the hardships only strengthened his resolve to succeed.
Speaking about his journey, Roney said Punjab is his soul and he feels blessed to be born on this sacred land. He recalled that when he first went abroad, he had only 700 dollars in his pocket and worked for 7 dollars an hour. He performed physically demanding jobs such as furniture moving, often suffering injuries and blisters on his hands, but never gave up.
Roney later made his mark in Europe, working extensively in the fashion and modelling industry and gaining international exposure. Today, he is in talks with multiple agencies and is preparing for a major breakthrough in Bollywood. There is also strong speculation about his possible entry into the popular reality show “Bigg Boss.”
Roney Singh’s tattoos reflect his life journey and values, symbolising Punjab’s history, Gurbani, sports, and personal struggles. He proudly calls himself desi at heart and says he will always stay connected to Punjabi culture while inspiring the next generation.
