Amid continuous predictions of record breaking winters this year, Punjab Weather continues to confuse the residents with both warm and cool temperature. During the daytime, weather in Punjab is reminded people that summer is still not over, on the other hand, during the night, the temperature is falling down reminded the people to be prepared for the shivering winters.
In the meantime, one of the Punjab districts recently witnessed second coldest night of October 2025. IMD Chandigarh on Tuesday shared its daily readings and according to it Firozpur recorded second coldest night of the year.
As per IMD Chandigarh's reading published on Tuesday i.e. on October 14, Firozpur registered 15.2°C. This is the second coldest night of October 2025. Before this, Fazilka shivered at 12.5°C in the night-time and it is still the coldest night recorded in October 2025.
The weather in Punjab has begun to change, and a mild chill is beginning to set in. The Meteorological Department has issued a new forecast that the state could experience record-breaking cold this time. The Meteorological Department has stated that severe cold and dense fog could affect all of North India.
As per reports, the cold will be more severe in December and January, primarily due to La Niña. La Niña is caused by abnormal sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean, which brings colder-than-average waters and strong easterly winds to the landmass.
Temperatures in Punjab are gradually decreasing. The chill is felt in the mornings and evenings.
