Following the controversy of an alleged tampered video showing Atishi, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly making derogatory remarks against Sikh Gurus, today the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and workers staged a protest outside the residence of Congress MLA from Jalandhar Cantt Pargat Singh in Jalandhar.
During the protest, MLA Pargat Singh came out of his house and tried to talk to the protesters, however he was stopped from doing so by the police. While talking to the media, Pargat Singh says that he challenges the Aam Aadmi Party for an open debate, saying he is up for a head-on debate and that the AAP leaders would not be able to answer any of his questions.
While, on the other hand the AAP Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat says that the AAP has been constantly working for the betterment of Punjab and its people and this is something that does not sit well with the opposition parties, be it Congress, Akali Dal or BJP. They know that the people of Punjab have made it clear that they won’t support these parties anymore. He adds, “We honor our Gurus, and today we are here protesting in that context. They have circulated a tempered video making it viral which was unacceptable."
The issue stems from an alleged viral video clip showing Atishi, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly making derogatory remarks on Gurus.
