Atishi video row: Punjab DGP seeks 10 days to respond to Delhi Assembly

Delhi Assembly had issued a notice to Punjab DGP, Special DGP Cyber Crime and Jalandhar Police Commissioner, demanding a response within 48 hours.

The ongoing controversy surrounding the video of Atishi, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, has intensified further. The Delhi Assembly had earlier issued a notice to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, Special DGP Cyber Crime V Neerja and Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur, demanding a response within 48 hours regarding the same. Now, the Punjab DGP and the Special DGP of Cyber Crime have written to the Delhi Assembly Speaker and requested time of 10 days to provide a written response into the given matter.  

The Delhi Assembly had issued a notice to these officers seeking a report and requested all the documents related to the case along with a laboratory report to be submitted. Now, the DGP has formally written to the Delhi Assembly Speaker requesting to extend the deadline to complete the said requirements.

Currently, a FIR has been registered at the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate in regards to the case. A complaint was filed by Iqbal Singh, alleging that the video being circulated of Atishi was tempered with and being circulated online.
