Man attacked while travelling from Bhucho to his village
A case of assault linked to an alleged land dispute has come to light from the Bhucho Mandi area of Bathinda district, where a man was reportedly attacked by a group of youths while he was travelling in a bus.
According to the information available, the victim was travelling from Bhucho towards his village Giddar when the bus was stopped on the way. A group of youths allegedly boarded the bus and assaulted him.
The man sustained injuries in the attack and was subsequently admitted to the Civil Hospital in Nathana, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Assault video circulates on social media
A video purportedly showing the assault has also surfaced on social media and is being widely circulated.
The video has drawn attention to the incident, following which police have initiated an investigation into the matter. Authorities are examining the viral footage along with other available facts to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault.
Police Begin Investigation
DSP Bhucho Mandi Pritpal Singh said that the police are investigating the matter on the basis of the viral video and other evidence.
Police officials said that further action will be taken after the facts of the case are verified and the investigation is completed.
The incident has once again raised concerns over violence stemming from land-related disputes, while the exact circumstances and motive behind the assault are still being investigated.
