Passengers traveling from Punjab to Canada have received a big relief. Qatar Airways has announced daily one-stop flights from Amritsar to Toronto via Doha, increasing the number of flights between the two destinations.
The Doha–Toronto flight was first launched in December 2024 operating four times a week. Due to rising passenger demand, the airline has now increased the frequency to daily flights starting from October 26, 2025.
This initiative marks the first such move by Qatar Airways from Amritsar International Airport. The announcement was made by Captain Sameer Singh Gurmukhani, Regional Manager (North India and North America) for Qatar Airways, along with V.S. Dhillon Director of Amritsar Airport.
Captain Gurmukhani said that the new daily service will give a major boost to Punjab’s connectivity with Canada and also improve travel convenience for passengers. Dhillon added that this step will connect Punjab to more than 100 international destinations including Montreal, through Qatar Airways’ extensive global network.
The decision comes into effect from October 26 and is expected to significantly benefit travelers. Officials noted that with this new schedule, passengers will have greater flexibility and more direct options from Amritsar instead of depending on Delhi Airport.
The enhanced flight connectivity is also expected to strengthen trade and tourism ties, with increased business opportunities and improved accessibility for the Punjabi diaspora settled in Canada.
