Police nab key suspect in BMS Fashion Showroom firing, identify accomplice still on the run

Commissionerate Police Jalandhar, under its ongoing “War Against Gangsters” campaign, has successfully traced the firing and criminal intimidation case related to the attack on BMS Fashion Showroom near Kishanpura Chowk, arresting one accused and identifying the second suspect, whose arrest is expected soon.

The operation was carried out under the directions of Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Dhanpreet Kaur, IPS, and under the supervision of DCP (Investigation) Manpreet Singh Dhillon, PPS, ADCP (Investigation) Jayant Puri, IPS, ADCP-I Akarshi Jain, IPS, ACP (Detective) Amarbir Singh, PPS, and ACP (Central) Rajesh Thakur, PPS. Special raiding teams were constituted under the leadership of Inspector Surinder Kumar, In-charge CIA Staff, and Inspector Jaspal Singh, SHO Police Station Rama Mandi.

During the investigation of FIR No. 130 dated June 12, 2026, registered under Sections 109, 308 and 324 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Rama Mandi, it was revealed that two motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire at around 3:00 PM.

Acting swiftly on information received about the incident, police teams launched an intensive investigation. Using technical evidence and human intelligence inputs, investigators succeeded in tracing the case within a short span of time.

During the course of investigation, one accused has been arrested, while the second accused has also been identified. Police teams are continuously conducting raids to apprehend him, and officials expect his arrest shortly.

Preliminary investigation has further indicated the possible involvement of an organized criminal network behind the incident. Police are thoroughly probing this angle and have stated that every individual linked to the network will be identified and dealt with strictly according to law.

Commissionerate Police Jalandhar reiterated its commitment to maintaining public safety and enforcing its zero-tolerance policy against gangsters and criminal elements who attempt to spread fear among citizens. Officials said further arrests and significant disclosures are likely in the case, and updates will be shared with the media as the investigation progresses.
