Panic spread in Amritsar after the body of a young man was found under suspicious circumstances at Hotel Four Seasons, located on 100 Feet Road, Amritsar. The investigation is currently underway, and police have assured that every aspect of the case will be thoroughly examined before drawing any conclusions.
Identification of the deceased
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Singh, a resident of Chhattisgarh. Police have begun an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the hotel to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
Information to the police
According to the police, the incident came to light after the hotel management informed Division B Police Station about the discovery of the body. SHO Baljinder Singh Aulakh, along with a police team, immediately reached the hotel and initiated an investigation. Preliminary inquiries revealed that Sandeep Singh had arrived in Amritsar by flight the previous night along with his maternal cousin. The two checked into Hotel Four Seasons and stayed there overnight. The following morning, when the cousin tried to wake Sandeep, he found him unconscious. Upon checking, it was discovered that he had already died. The hotel management and police were informed immediately.
Further examinations
Police have taken the body into custody and shifted it to the Civil Hospital mortuary in Amritsar for a post-mortem examination. The deceased's family has also been informed about the incident and is expected to arrive in Amritsar shortly. As part of the investigation, police are carefully reviewing the hotel's CCTV footage to trace the events leading up to the young man's death. Officers are also collecting other evidence from the hotel premises to establish the exact sequence of events.
SHO Baljinder Singh Aulakh
Speaking to the media, SHO Baljinder Singh Aulakh said that it would be premature to speculate about the cause of death at this stage. He stated that the police are investigating the case from every possible angle and no possibility has been ruled out. He added that the exact cause of death will only be known after the post-mortem and forensic examination reports are received. The SHO further said that the police are currently treating the matter as a case of suspicious death and are following all legal procedures. Statements of the people present at the hotel, along with other relevant evidence, are also being recorded and examined.
Police officials maintained that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the post-mortem and forensic reports. Until then, investigators are continuing to examine all available evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements, to ascertain whether the death was due to natural causes or if any other factors were involved.
