Bomb threat in Amritsar Schools: Cyber Police Team tracking 'email sender', appeal to not panic

As a precautionary measure after receiving bomb threat, students were sent back to their homes via Van and Bus in Amritsar.

Multiple private schools in Amritsar on Friday received bomb threat via Email. Keeping the seriousness of the situation in mind, school managements informed the Police immediately. As a precautionary measure, students were sent back to their homes via Van and Bus. Parents also received a message from school to pick their children.

As per information received, at Senior Study School located in the Putlighar area of Amritsar, an email threatening a bomb blast was received while students and staff were present inside. Sensing the situation, the school administration immediately called parents and asked them to pick up their children.

Now, Amritsar Police has issued an official statement into the matter. A video of DCP Law & Order Alam Vijay Singh was posted on official X handle of Amritsar Police in which he informed-

"Today, multiple schools of Amritsar received threat emails. Keeping seriousness of the situation in mind, our anti-sabotage check teams, gazetted officers, and SHOs are visiting schools personally. I request school authorities, parents, and teachers that there is no need to panic. Our Cyber Police Team are tracking the source of email. We will soon get success in tracking the sender."

"Similar emails were received in the past by the schools. We had tracked the sender at that time and it was found that it was mischief of students of school. In such a situation, there is no need to panic.
