Vehicles ignited in a parking lot close to Fortis Hospital at Mohali. This took place in front of the Phase 8 police station. All these vehicles are case properties of the police station. The fire brigade has reached the spot. Some of the vehicles were also destroyed. The reason behind the fire is not yet ascertained.
As per individuals, during the fire in the vehicles, there were loud bangs, which made the people panic. The location is also where Fortis Hospital, the PUDA building, the Panchayat Bhawan, and the Punjab School Education Board are situated.
Four or five fire tender vehicles reached the spot right away. Fortis Hospital officials also arrived after hearing about the fire. They mentioned that their vehicles were salvaged.
Police officials of Phase 8 said that what triggered the fire remains unknown. They further informed that as soon as the fire started, the fire brigade was informed.
But the fire brigade, owing to the condition of the road, took some time to arrive. Yet, the fire was controlled. Hospital fire fighting units also arrived at the location.
