Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 1 reached Dera Sachkhand Ballan on the occasion of 649th Jayanti celebration of Sant Ravidass Ji in Jalandhar. Prime Minister Modi reached Dera Sachkhand Ballan via helicopter that he boarded from Adampur Airport.
After reaching Dera Sachkhand Ballan, PM Modi sought blessings of Sant Niranjan Dass Ji and even touched his feet.
Addressing a gathering at Dera Sachkhand Ballan, PM Modi outlined how Budget 2026 will make industries of Punjab especially sports industry of Jalandhar, and textile industry of Ludhiana an epicenter of growth.
PM Modi said, "A lot of focus of Union Budget 2026 is made to make on Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, and other cities epicenter of development. Punjab is among those states where farmers, and MSMEs have rich traditions. MEMEs of the countries have got financial help in crores in the past years. Similarly, in this budget funds of thousands of crores have been given for MSMEs. India's exports have raised sharply in the past few years. In this budget, many announcements have been made for exporters."
"Now, India is becoming a major exporter of textiles. To generate employment in textile sector, incentives have also been announced. Mega textile parks will be made in the country. It will benefit cotton farmers, workers, and everyone involved."
PM Modi further said, "Another focus area of the Budget is Sports. And, Punjab is so ahead in sports. In this budget, Khelo India Mission has been announced. Under this modern infrastructure will be built. Along with this coaches, support staff, sports science, and related professionals will be developed."
PM Modi also sid, "Another historic development that has been done is India-EU Trade Deal. Entire world is talking about it. With this trade deal, India's businesses will flourish in 27 counties of Europe. Now, we have to pay almost negligible tax to do business with the EU countries."
"Punjab is known by its hard working people, farmers, and skilled youths. By this trade deal, people of Punjab will benefit. Lakhs of people of Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Amritsar are associated with textile industry. Now, Punjab's textile sector will get new and bigger markets. Clothes that will be manufactured here will now go for sale in Europe big market on almost negligible tax. It means orders in Punjab factories will increase."
Prime Minister Modi outlined, "Jalandhar is world famous for sports good manufacturing. After trade deal with EU, Jalandhar and nearby areas will increase in manufacturing of sports goods. Branding, packaging, and logistics will see increase in employment. The Union Budget that has been tabled today, in that as well, Jalandhar Sports Goods industry will get a lot of help.
