Bullet riders break Punjab police naka, SHO sprints like a hero to catch them in Abohar

Two youths riding a Bullet motorcycle allegedly arrived at high speed, bursting modified exhaust "firecrackers" and performing dangerous stunts on the road.

Punjab Police intensified its efforts to maintain law and order in Abohar by conducting a checkpoint near Aggarsain Chowk under the supervision of City Police Station-1 SHO Inspector Maninder Singh. During the naka, two youths riding a Bullet motorcycle allegedly arrived at high speed, bursting modified exhaust "firecrackers" and performing dangerous stunts on the road.

Chase down by the SHO

On spotting the police, the duo attempted to break through the checkpoint and flee. However, SHO Inspector Maninder Singh immediately chased them down in a dramatic, movie-style pursuit, and with the assistance of the police team, both riders were apprehended on the spot. The Bullet motorcycle was seized and taken to the police station, while legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused.

No Leniency for Law Breakers

Inspector Maninder Singh said the police are investigating why the youths attempted to break the checkpoint and what prompted them to flee. He stressed that no leniency would be shown to anyone attempting to disturb public order or violate the law.

He further stated that bursting exhaust "firecrackers" from Bullet motorcycles, performing stunts, and creating public nuisance are punishable offences, adding that strict action against such violations will continue in the future.

Appeal to Parents

The SHO also appealed to parents to keep a close watch on their children's activities and discourage them from engaging in such reckless behaviour, so they do not end up on the wrong side of the law.

A video of the entire incident has gone viral on social media, with many local residents praising the prompt action taken by the police.

Senior police officials also commended the team for its swift response, describing the operation as an effective step towards maintaining law and order in the city. Residents said such strict action is essential to ensure peace, discipline, and public safety in Abohar.
