CT Group Celebrates Van Mahotsav 2026 with Over 500-Tree Plantation Drive Across Campuses

Demonstrates its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and nation-building under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' Campaign

Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and nation-building, CT Group celebrated Van Mahotsav 2026 through an extensive tree plantation drive across CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan Campus, CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus, CT Public School, and CT World School under the Government of India's "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" Campaign. More than 500 saplings were planted across both campuses and school premises, reinforcing the institution's vision of creating greener campuses while inspiring students to become responsible environmental stewards.

Van Mahotsav, observed annually from July 1 to July 7, was initiated in 1950 by Dr. K. M. Munshi to encourage afforestation during the monsoon season. The nationwide campaign is supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and educational institutions across the country to strengthen environmental conservation and sustainable development. The plantation drive at CT Group was also organized in accordance with the AICTE advisory encouraging Higher Educational Institutions to actively participate in the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" Campaign through plantation drives, environmental awareness initiatives, and sustainable campus practices.

The plantation activities were carried out at Maqsudan Bypass, inside the Maqsudan and Shahpur campuses, CT Public School, CT World School, and surrounding green spaces. The drive saw enthusiastic participation from management, faculty, staff, students, and volunteers. At the Shahpur Campus, the plantation drive was supported by Team Warriors NGO, whose members joined hands with the CT fraternity to strengthen the institution's mission of promoting environmental conservation and community participation.

Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh said, "Nature has always been our greatest teacher, and protecting it is our collective responsibility. Through the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, we are not merely planting trees; we are nurturing values of gratitude, responsibility, and sustainability among our students. Every sapling planted today represents hope for a cleaner environment and a healthier future."

Dr. Anurag Sharma, Campus Director, CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan, said, "Through Van Mahotsav and the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, we are encouraging students to actively participate in conservation efforts while understanding the importance of preserving ecological balance for future generations."

Ms. Manisha Basnet, Principal, CT Public School, said, "Instilling environmental values from an early age is essential for building a sustainable future."

Ms. Arti Jaswal, Principal, CT World School, said, "A greener tomorrow begins with the choices we make today. Planting a sapling may appear to be a small gesture, but these collective efforts create a lasting impact.”

The event concluded with all participants taking a collective pledge to nurture the planted saplings and adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives. Through initiatives like Van Mahotsav and the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, CT Group continues to foster sustainability, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility, empowering students to become conscious citizens committed to protecting the planet for future generations.
