The Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh has issued an alert for dense to very dense fog in multiple districts of Punjab. The cold conditions are expected to prevail in the evening hours mirroring the morning weather. As per the weather forecast issued by IMD Chandigarh the weather in Punjab is expected to remain dry. The department has also predicted dense to very dense fog in many places of Punjab.
Today, the highest maximum temperature recorded in the state was 21.4°C in Patiala, whereas the lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 3.6°C at Bathinda. No predictions of rainfall have been made as of now. The IMD has predicted no major change in minimum temperatures during next 48 hours.
As per the data issued by the IMD, Chandigarh an alert has been issued of dense to very dense fog in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala. Whereas a dense fog alert had been issued in Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Barnala, Mansa, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Muktsar and Bhatinda.
Similarly, for February 4 the IMD Chandigarh has predicted dense fog in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Patiala, Barnala, Mansa, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Muktsar and Bhatinda.
Moving forward there has been no warnings issued from February 5 to 7 as of now.
