A bizarre case has been reported from Bhai Bakhtaur village in Bathinda, where the knee implants of a deceased elderly farmer were allegedly removed from his remains after his cremation.

The incident came to light when the deceased’s family members and villagers reached the cremation ground to collect the ashes and perform the traditional rituals. They were reportedly shocked to find that the knee joints were missing from the remains.

Deceased farmer had underwent knee replacement

According to the family and villagers, the deceased farmer, aged around 65 to 70 years, had undergone knee replacement surgery before his death.

Villagers allege that someone may have learned about his death and the presence of the implants before reaching the cremation ground after the last rites.

The person allegedly searched through the remains and removed the knee implants.

Villagers demand strict action

The incident has left residents shocked, with villagers expressing anger over what they described as an unusual and disturbing form of theft.

A villager said that people now appear to have become so brazen that even the remains of the deceased are allegedly not being spared. Residents have demanded strict legal action against whoever is responsible.
