Overall Diwali is the festival of lights, one of the largest and most celebratory festivals in Punjab with holidays.
The four days will see the closure of these schools so that students and staff can get their quota of fun with their families. Some schools have also organised special cultural events or mini celebrations well before the festive season so that students get a feel of the festival environment.
The classes will resume from Thursday, October 24, when the students will be sufficiently rested and ready to pick up from where they had left off previously.
The parents have also embraced this news gladly as it provides the children with an opportunity to spend time amidst the celebratory atmosphere and share with their families.
