Freezing mornings dominate Punjab’s winter; Lowest in Ropar

Weather reports indicate, winters coming might mean chillier evenings and dawns

Punjab’s evenings got noticeably cooler on November 22, 2025 - winter had started creeping in. Some spots woke up to freezing conditions; elsewhere it just felt cold - but either way, things were shifting. Experts say night temperatures fell close to a full degree compared to earlier, so many places ended up with sharp, dry air hanging around.

Coldest spots across Punjab

The coldest spot was Ropar_KVK(AWS) with a reading near 7.1°C - this made it feel chillier there than elsewhere today.

Pathankot got cold quick, temp down to 8.3°C; Bhatinda dipped slightly lower at 8.2°C, whereas Faridkot touched 7.9°C not long after.

- Big spots such as Amritsar (9.6°C), Ludhiana hit 9.4°C, Patiala saw 9.0°C, while Mohali dipped to 10.4°C - all recorded chilly numbers below ten.

Weather trends

No rain appeared at a single spot - mornings just kept feeling cold, dry across the whole state.

- It’s been cooler than normal lately, since many spots are running 1 to 2°C below what you’d expect right now.

- Experts warn that colder nights and mornings could arrive soon, so people need to prepare - especially seniors, young ones, or those sensitive to sudden drops in temperature; maybe wear extra layers or keep an eye on weather updates now and then.

IMD advisory

- When it gets colder, people ought to keep warm, avoid early morning outings that aren't necessary, yet watch out for cold-related health issues.

The IMD warns to watch vulnerable people because Punjab's chilly weather is growing worse.
