The Punjab Government on Friday ordered the transfer and posting of IPS officer Harmanbir Singh with immediate effect on administrative grounds.
According to an order issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Harmanbir Singh, IPS (2010 batch), who was serving as DIG, Border Range, Amritsar, will continue in the same post and will additionally hold charge as Commissioner of Police, Amritsar and he replaces Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS (2004 batch), as Amritsar Police Commissioner.
The order further states that Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has been directed to report to the office of the Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab, until further orders and it has also been noted that his next posting will be issued separately.
The government has directed the officers concerned to join their new assignments immediately. The order was issued with the approval of the competent authority.
