Risking their own lives, the soldiers ensured that every single stranded person was lifted to safety.
In a chilling reminder of what was at stake, the very building on which the helicopter had landed gave way shortly after the evacuation, highlighting the timely and decisive rescue efforts."
As per reports, the army rescued 22 CRPF jawans and 3 civilians by helicopter Just after the helicopter took off from the roof, the front part of the building collapsed and got submerged in water.

On Tuesday, SSP Pathankot Daljinder Singh Dhillon, said, "The situation in Pathankot district is very alarming. Ranjit Sagar Dam is overflowing due to which Ravi river's water level has raised. Apart from this, the water is meeting Ujh river and Jalalia River. As a result, Ujh river is also overflowing. So villages like Taash, Maakhanpura have been severely hit. Many people are on the terrace of their house and awaiting rescue. NDRF teams have already gone there but water currents are very strong. So we have requested authorities including the Army to airlift the affected people once the rain stops."
SSP Dhillon further said, 'Pathankot Police has appealed the public that without extreme emergency don't step outside from your homes. Traffic has been disrupted as water is flowing in many areas. People living in villages specially Narot Jaimal Singh area, we request them to leave their house if it is near river and shift to safe spots prepared by Punjab Government."
The district administration has also established a rehabilitation center in the Radha Saomi Satsang. Furthermore, Gurudwara Shri Barth Sahib's complex has been declared as 'Sarnarthi Ghar'."
