Sh. Karnail Singh, PPS, ACP HQ Jalandhar, informed that today, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar received information regarding the alleged kidnapping of a school-going child from Gulab Devi Road, Guru Nanak Nagar, falling under Police Station Division No. 1.
Upon receiving the information, the SHO, Police Station Division No. 1, along with a police team, immediately reached the spot. The police conducted a detailed inquiry, questioned the persons present and examined the CCTV footage of the surrounding area to verify the information.
During the investigation and detailed examination of the CCTV footage, it was established that the child had *not been kidnapped*. The child had returned home safely along with his maternal uncle and his friends. The friends of the maternal uncle had accompanied the child and dropped him safely at his home before returning.
After verification of the facts and CCTV footage, it was confirmed that the information regarding the child being kidnapped was *false. The child is **safe and sound at his home*.
Commissionerate Police Jalandhar appeals to the general public not to spread unverified information or rumours and to verify the facts before sharing any such information. In case of any suspicious incident, citizens are requested to immediately inform the police.
