In a warm and significant meeting held today, Aam Aadmi Party's Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge, Nitin Kohli, called on AAP's Punjab In-charge and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia. During the meeting, Kohli presented Sisodia with a hand-painted Mandala art piece, specially crafted by his wife, Nidhi Kohli, as a token of respect and appreciation for his continued guidance to the party's Punjab unit.
The meeting was marked by a detailed and wide-ranging conversation on Punjab-centric issues, with particular focus on the pace and direction of development in the Jalandhar Central constituency. The meeting served as an "in-depth review session," with both leaders going ward-by-ward through the progress of ongoing and upcoming projects across all 23 wards of Jalandhar Central.
Briefing Sisodia on the ground situation, Nitin Kohli presented a comprehensive account of development works already completed and those currently underway in the constituency. Among the key achievements highlighted was the revival of the long-pending Burlton Park Sports Hub project, being developed under the Smart City Mission, which was inaugurated with the involvement of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Kohli apprised Sisodia that the sports complex would house world-class facilities for cricket, football, hockey, volleyball, badminton, judo, table tennis and an Olympic-standard swimming pool, positioning Jalandhar as a hub for national and international sporting events.
Kohli also updated Sisodia on the "Fit Central" initiative, under which modern sports playgrounds with floodlights, walking tracks and multi-game facilities are being developed aimed at encouraging fitness among citizens of all age groups.
On the civic infrastructure front, Kohli detailed various development works rolled out in the constituency over the past several months — covering roads, drainage, street lighting, parks and interlocking work in many areas.
Both leaders also discussed future development priorities for the constituency, with Kohli assuring Sisodia that pending and newly tendered projects would be completed within committed timelines, in line with the vision of transforming Jalandhar Central into a model constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Nitin Kohli said that under Manish Sisodia's leadership, the Aam Aadmi Party's Punjab unit has witnessed consistent organisational strengthening and policy direction, which he described as a "boon" for the state. He added that Sisodia's experience in governance and his hands-on approach to Punjab's affairs have played a key role in translating the party's development agenda into visible, on-ground results across constituencies, including Jalandhar Central
Manish Sisodia, in turn, appreciated Kohli's dedicated efforts in ensuring transparent and citizen-centric development in Jalandhar Central and reaffirmed the party's commitment to accelerating Punjab's development agenda under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both leaders reiterating their resolve to work closely for the holistic development of Jalandhar and the state of Punjab.
