Jalandhar City Railway Station's renovation worth Rs 219-cr likely to start in November

In the second phase of the Amrit Bharat Station Project, construction work on the Jalandhar City Railway Station is expected to begin by November this year.

While people are still awaiting for the official inauguration of newly renovated Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station, Jalandhar City Railway Station's renovation work is also set to start.

The Railway Construction Department will be responsible for its construction, which is also currently overseeing the construction of the Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station.

Entire Jalandhar City Station Building to be demolished

Reports further suggest that the entire station building will be demolished and rebuilt. Due to the scale of the project, it may be completed in three to four phases. This will include renovations to the main building, the second entry, the yard area, the platform extension, and the relocation of the goods warehouse. .

Currently, the Construction Department is awaiting the transfer of paperwork.

Jalandhar City Railway Station

As per reports, the railway's design for the station building includes a five-story main building and a three-story building at the second entry.

There are also provisions for extending the station platforms, shifting the yard, and relocating the cargo warehouse.

Some changes are possible based on the construction work, as well as the facilities and potential.
