The controversy that has been erupted after the deaths 3 patients into the ICU of Trauma Center at Jalandhar Civil Hospital is far from over. As per information received. On Friday, outsourced oxygen plant supervisor, Narinder Kumar was sacked from his services in Jalandhar Civil Hospital.
A few days back, three doctors were suspended while one was dismissed from his services. During the incident, grade-4 employee was on duty at the oxygen plant. The supervisor was on leave.
On Friday, Narinder Kumar, supervisor of oxygen plant from Chandigarh, was also sacked in Jalandhar Civil Hospital. The order from Chandigarh has revealed the negligence of the supervisor. Earlier, three doctors and a house surgeon have been sacked.
It is known that three patients died in the trauma center of Civil Hospital on Sunday evening due to low oxygen pressure. In this case, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh suspended MS Dr. Rajkumar, SMO Dr. Surjeet, Doctor Sonakshi of Anesthesia and sacked the house surgeon for being absent from duty.
At the same time, Oxygen Plant Supervisor Narinder Kumar was sacked on Friday. Because during the accident, grade-4 employee was on duty at the oxygen plant.
During this time the supervisor was on leave. Therefore, in view of the negligence, the supervisor, who was working on outsourcing in the Civil Hospital, has also been sacked.
As per information received, two full-time supervisors had previously resigned a year ago allegedly due to low wages.
In response to the incident, hospital administration has now opened a new manifold room near the trauma centre. This facility will act as a backup to ensure immediate oxygen supply in case of future disruptions.
On the other hand, Punjab head of PCMS Dr. Akhil Sarin reached the Civil Hospital on Friday. During this, he met the suspended and dismissed employees.
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh on Wednesday suspended 3 Medical Officers of Jalandhar Civil Hospital and dismissed 1 House Surgeon from services.
"Four individuals- Civil Surgeon who is Deputy Director ranked Doctor, Senior Medical Officer (SMO), the third is Consultant Anesthesia. Dr. Raj Kumar (MS), Dr. Surjit Singh (SMO), and Dr. Sonakshi (Consultant Anesthesia). Gross negligence of all these 4 doctors were found. They were on-duty in the ICU at that day. They have been suspended with immediate effect," added Dr. Balbir.
