Jalandhar CP Orders Tougher Measures to Strengthen Law and Order

Jalandhar police chief unveils stricter enforcement plan to curb crime and restore public confidence

Commissioner of Police Jalandhar Satinder Singh, IPS, on Saturday chaired a comprehensive crime review meeting to assess the city’s crime control strategy and law and order preparedness, directing officers to strengthen preventive policing and intensify action against criminals, drug peddlers and anti-social elements.

The meeting was attended by DCP Investigation Manpreet Singh Dhillon, PPS, DCP Headquarters, ADCP-I, ADCP-II, ADCP Investigation, along with all Gazetted Officers and Station House Officers (SHOs) of Commissionerate Jalandhar.

During the meeting, the Commissioner reviewed the progress of investigations into heinous crimes, monitored extortion call cases, and assessed the action being taken against criminals, drug peddlers and suppliers. The review also covered measures to curb chain-snatching incidents, ensure the timely disposal of public complaints, expedite pending investigations and dispose of seized vehicles.

Issuing clear directions to all officers, CP Satinder Singh emphasised the need to maintain effective law and order, strengthen crime prevention measures, improve traffic management and ensure firm legal action against criminals and anti-social elements.

The officers were also briefed on the prevailing law and order and security scenario and were instructed to remain vigilant, adopt preventive policing measures and maintain close coordination to ensure public safety and security.

Reiterating the Commissionerate Police’s commitment to citizen safety, the Commissioner urged all officers to discharge their duties with professionalism, integrity and commitment to provide a safe and secure environment for the people of Jalandhar.
