Jalandhar Horror: Master Salim urges Punjab CM to ensure harshest punishment for accused

He urged the authorities to consider the safety of daughters and questioned whether girls were truly secure in the state.

Punjabi and Bollywood singer Master Salim has released an emotional video demanding strict punishment for the accused in the murder of a 13-year-old girl in Jalandhar’s West area, a case that has triggered widespread anger across Punjab.

The singer appealed directly to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Punjab government, urging them to ensure that the accused receives the maximum penalty allowed by law.

In a video posted on Instagram, Master Salim, who hails from Shahkot, said the crime had shaken him deeply. He appealed to MLAs, MPs, lawyers and police officers in Jalandhar to take the case seriously and ensure that the punishment sets a strong example. The singer said the brutality faced by the girl was “unforgivable” and that society must come together to support her family.

Master Salim said thinking of the 13-year-old victim “makes my throat choke and my soul tremble.” He stated that while the country functions under the law, the system must ensure justice that gives confidence to families across Punjab.

He urged the authorities to consider the safety of daughters and questioned whether girls were truly secure in the state.

The singer said that not just he rather everyone who hears of the case feel strongly that the accused deserve the strictest action and said such crimes should never be taken lightly.

He urged politicians, police, lawyers and judges to act swiftly and ensure that the girl’s family receives justice without delay.

Meanwhile, public anger over the case continues to grow, with voices from every group including social organisations and religious groups expressing solidarity with the family. Master Salim said that incidents involving minors shake the entire society and that the government should intervene firmly to prevent such crimes.

Calling the crime “unbearable,” he urged everyone to unite and ensure that those responsible face consequences under the law. He said the case should serve as a turning point in ensuring justice and safety for children in Punjab.
