Jalandhar police tighten security ahead of August 15; CP reviews crime, traffic & pending cases

He directed the officers to complete pending investigations on priority and ensure the timely disposal of cases in accordance with law.

With the objective of reviewing criminal activities in Police Commissionerate Jalandhar, further strengthening law and order, and ensuring smooth traffic management, Shri Satinder Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, conducted a special review meeting with all Gazetted Officers, SHOs, Chowki In-charges and Unit In-charges at Police Lines, Jalandhar.

During the meeting, the Commissioner of Police conducted a detailed review of cases registered at various police stations under Police Commissionerate Jalandhar, pending investigations, timely disposal of complaints, proclaimed offenders/wanted accused, drug trafficking, cyber fraud, robbery, theft and other criminal activities. He directed the officers to complete pending investigations on priority and ensure the timely disposal of cases in accordance with law.

The Commissioner of Police directed the officers to further strengthen security arrangements in view of August 15, Independence Day, make patrolling and Naka checking more effective in their respective jurisdictions, increase checking of suspicious persons and vehicles, enhance security at sensitive and important locations/buildings, and ensure adequate police presence. He also issued necessary directions for immediate action against any suspicious activity.

During the meeting, he directed the officers to ensure prompt action on complaints received through Emergency Helpline No. 112 and Safe Punjab Helpline No. 97791-00200, so that timely police assistance reaches citizens in distress and mutual trust and cooperation between the public and the Police Department is further strengthened. In addition, the Commissioner of Police directed the officers to further intensify awareness campaigns for the prevention of cyber-crimes and educate the public about remaining vigilant against online fraud and cyber scams.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Commissioner of Police directed all officers to work with utmost dedication and professionalism to effectively control crime and make Jalandhar city safer and more secure for its residents.
