Residents of several parts of Jalandhar will face a scheduled power outage on Wednesday, June 24, as the Power Department has announced a temporary shutdown of the 11kV SUS feeder reasoned for routine maintenance and tree-cutting work.
According to the official notice, electricity supply will remain suspended from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon to facilitate general maintenance and to ensure safe operation of the power network.
The areas likely to be affected with the power outage include SUS Nagar, Makhdoompura, Lovely Autos area, Chabra Sweets vicinity, New Suraj Ganj, Chadha Apartments, Guru Kirpa Flats, Doaba Hospital area, Fortune Hotel vicinity, Ajit Nagar, Shastri Nagar, and surrounding localities.
Residents and commercial establishments in these areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience during the scheduled shutdown period.
The Power Department stated that the maintenance work is aimed at improving the reliability and safety of the electricity distribution system. Supply is expected to be restored after the completion of the work, subject to operational conditions.
