The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of the city on Friday, July 10, 2026, due to essential maintenance work at the 66 kV TV Center Substation. The shutdown will be observed from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, during which electricity supply from the 11 kV Link Road, 11 kV Pruthi, 11 kV Tej Mohan Nagar and 11 kV New Ashok Nagar feeders will remain affected.
Affected areas
According to the power department, the scheduled outage will impact Avtar Nagar (Gali No. 0 to 12), Lajpat Nagar Park, ITI College, 35 No. Tubewell, Pruthi Hospital, Tej Mohan Nagar, Dayal Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Basti Sheikh Adda, Chitta School, and other adjoining localities.

Residents and business owners in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience during the one-hour shutdown. The electricity supply is expected to be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed, provided the work is finished as scheduled.
