The drop becomes more noticeable when compared with the weather around the same date last year. On September 29, 2025, Jalandhar was expecting a minimum temperature of around 24°C and a maximum of 35°C. This year, the morning temperature is around 2°C lower, while the daytime forecast is also several degrees below last year’s expected high.
Weather forecast points to a cooler pattern
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast for Jalandhar, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 23°C with a maximum of 33°C on September 29.
The forecast for September 30 indicates another slight dip, with the minimum expected to touch 22°C and the maximum around 32°C.
The pattern suggests that while afternoons remain warm, mornings are beginning to turn more comfortable as September draws to a close.

Weather data also points towards a relatively cooler September compared with the previous year. The average temperature for September 2025 in Jalandhar was around 28°C, compared with approximately 29°C in September 2024.
The difference was more visible in daytime temperatures, with the average maximum recorded at around 33°C in September 2025, compared with nearly 35°C in September 2024.
Is winter arriving early in Jalandhar?
The cooler morning may feel like an early winter signal, but the current forecast does not indicate the immediate arrival of sustained winter conditions.
Daytime temperatures are still expected to remain around 32–34°C, creating the familiar late-September pattern of cooler mornings followed by warm afternoons.
For now, Jalandhar appears to be experiencing a seasonal transition rather than an early winter.
October temperatures will provide the clearer signal
The bigger weather question will be how quickly minimum temperatures fall during October.
If morning temperatures begin consistently dropping below the low-20s and eventually move into the teens, it would indicate a much clearer shift towards winter.
For now, however, September 29 has brought a noticeable change to Jalandhar’s mornings. With temperatures around 22°C, the city is beginning the day cooler than it did around the same time last year.
