Satinder Singh Springs Into Action Immediately After Taking Charge as Police Commissioner. Satinder Singh was appointed as the Police Commissioner of Jalandhar following the transfer of Dhanpreet Kaur. Meanwhile, Dhanpreet Kaur has been appointed as the Director of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy (PPA), Phillaur. After taking charge, Commissioner Satinder Singh said that his top priority would be to eradicate the existence of drugs and the illegal liquor trade in the city. Having joined the Punjab Police as an Inspector in 1990, he emphasized that crime would be tackled with close coordination of the public. He also asserted that new measures would be introduced for the welfare of police personnel who have been continuously performing their duties.
The Police Commissioner further stated that public dealing at police stations would be improved and complaints from citizens would be addressed within an adequate time frame. Genuine efforts would be made to resolve public issues promptly, and no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands. Reducing crime in the city, he said, remains his primary objective. During the interaction, he requested the residents of Jalandhar to cooperate fully with the police. Satinder Singh said that he shares a long-standing connection with the city and together with his officers, he will work towards ensuring a safer and more peaceful life for its residents.
He added that police officials are continuously working to trace and solve criminal incidents in Jalandhar, and he will focus on reducing the city's crime graph further in collaboration with the police force. The concerns and difficulties faced by the business community will also be addressed at the earliest. While interacting with the media he also appreciated Jalandhar Police for their work and added that along with them, he will extend helping hands for the public. He also assured that the orders of the CM and DGP will be implemented seamlessly on the ground level.
Satinder Singh is a 2010-batch Punjab Police Service (PPS) officer who was recently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ludhiana Range and he has earlier held several important positions in Punjab Police.
Before serving as DIG Ludhiana Range Satinder Singh was posted as DIG Border Range Amritsar and also served as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amritsar (Rural).
Known for his field experience and operational leadership Satinder Singh has handled several key assignments during his policing career and He is considered an experienced officer and has worked on issues related to narcotics control, crime prevention and security operations during his career.
