Jullundur Gymkhana Club AGM held; fresh elections announced, executive committee dissolved

Shubhi Angra (PCS) has been appointed Returning Officer for the elections, while Tejpreet Singh will serve as the Honorary Ad Hoc Committee member.

The much-awaited Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Jullundur Gymkhana Club was held on Saturday at the club premises, paving the way for the upcoming management elections.

The meeting was presided over by Jalandhar Divisional Commissioner-cum-President of Jullundur Gymkhana Club, Shri Ram Veer Singh (IAS). During the AGM, members approved the Annual Balance Sheet for the financial year 2024–25, marking the completion of one of the key agenda items.

A major announcement was made during the meeting as the President formally dissolved the existing Executive Committee and confirmed that the process for fresh management elections has now begun.

According to the announcement made at the AGM, the Returning Officer will notify the election schedule within the next one to two days. Shubhi Angra (PCS) has been appointed as the Returning Officer to conduct the elections, while Mr. Tejpreet Singh has been nominated as the Honorary Ad Hoc Committee member. The remaining members of the Ad Hoc Committee will be notified separately.

Addressing the gathering, the President said that the election dates would be officially announced by the Returning Officer shortly and assured members that the election process would be conducted accordingly.

The AGM also witnessed active participation from club members, many of whom shared suggestions and recommendations regarding the club's future functioning and development. The President acknowledged these inputs and stated that the newly elected committee would consider implementing these suggestions in the best interest of the club.

The AGM assumes significance as it formally sets the stage for the Jullundur Gymkhana Club management elections, which are expected to witness keen interest from members. Election activity has already intensified, with the Achievers Group announcing its panel of candidates, including Dheeraj Seth for Junior Vice President, Amit Kukreja for Honorary Secretary, Harpreet Singh (Goldy) for Joint Secretary, and Saurabh Khullar for Treasurer.

With the Executive Committee now dissolved and the Returning Officer appointed, all eyes are on the official election notification, expected within the next couple of days.
