Punjab’s renowned bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman’s death case witnesses a major turn as a panel of doctors have released the report, clearing the air about the circumstances surrounding his passing. Ghuman passed away due to a heart attack during surgery at Fortis Hospital on October 9, 2025.
After the release of the panel report, the family continues to allege that the cause of Ghuman’s death was medical negligence. The family states that he went to the hospital in a completely healthy state just to get his arm treatment. The family further alleges that the Ghuman’s body was black/blue from head to shoulder post operation. Reportedly, the family has already filed a complaint with the Amritsar Commissioner of Police and vows a continued fight.
As per the reports, board members stated that there was lack of transparency, failure to explain complications and deviation from the standard protocols. “There is a medical negligence resulting in violation of patient rights,” it stated.
The family of famous bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghumman had earlier stepped up their protest after four and a half months of waiting for justice regarding the mysterious death of the bodybuilder during an operation at a hospital in Amritsar. On Thursday, the family gathered around the office of the Civil Surgeon, demanding a fair and transparent investigation.
The family had claimed that the doctors attempted to manipulate the medical report and that they have been struggling for justice for months.
