President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Punjab. As per reports the visit comes in light of two important educational events that are going to take place in the state.
As per sources, the President will attend the Golden Jubilee Convocation of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), in Amritsar on January 15. She will attend the event as a Chief Guest and confer degrees to the students. After that, the next day on January 16, the President is scheduled to attend the 21st Convocation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), in Jalandhar.
In the view of her visit, the security arrangements have been notched up. As per reports, the President is scheduled to land at the Sri Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar. Police deployment has been increased significantly at the venues and routes of the event so that no untoward incident takes place during her visit and the events take place smoothly.
