Know when Jullundur Gymkhana Club elections will be held

It is noteworthy that the elections are required to be held within 45 days after Club’s Annual General Meeting on March 14.

Jullundur Gymkhana Club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled to be held on March 14. This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is special because the date for the club elections will be announced at the meeting.  

A management meeting was held at the club premises, where honorary secretaries of Jullundur Gymkhana Club, Sandeep Kuki Behl, Saurabh Khullar, Anu Matta, Vipin Jhanji, Mahinder Singh, Rajiv Bansal along with other officers were present. The meeting was conveyed in the presence of Divisional Commissioner.

Following the discussions on the club’s routine development work, the Divisional Commissioner announced the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on the evening of March 14 at the club premises. The date for the elections of the club’s new management will be announced during the meet. It is noteworthy that the elections are required to be held within 45 days after March 14. Therefor it is most likely that the club management elections will be held by the last week of April.

Last polls held in March 2024

During the Jullundur Gymkhana Club’s last elections, Achievers’ Group candidate for the post of Jr. Vice President of the Gymkhana Club Amit Kukreja achieved a landslide victory with a margin of 718 votes, more than anyone in the history of Gymkhana elections. He was up against the Progressive group’s S.P.S. Raju Virk for the post of Jr. Vice President. It was not a clean sweep for the Achievers’ however as Sandeep Kuki Behl defeated Achievers’ Tarun Sikka with a relatively smaller margin of about 25 votes for the post of Honorary Secretary.

With this, according to the final result, Achievers’ Saurabh Khullar won the post of Treasurer by 135 votes, and Anu Matta won as Joint Secretary by and impressive lead of 365 votes. After the Jalandhar Gymkhana election results, Kukreja became Junior Vice President, Anu Mata became Joint Secretary, Kukki Behal became Secretary and Saurabh Khullar became the treasurer.

In the list of executive members, Vipin Jhanjhi, Mohinder Singh, Shalini Kalra, Atul Talwar, Shalin Joshi, Nitin Bahl, Harpreet Goldy, Rajeev Bansal, Vinnie Sharma Dhawan, Jagjit Kamboj were in the first 10 positions. MB Bali, Gundeep Sodhi, Karan Aggarwal, Dr. Surinder, Sumit Ralhan, Monu Puri etc. were behind.

Most anticipated elections of the city

Jullundur Gymkhana Club’s elections are one of the most anticipated elections of the city as the capping for membership in the club stands at 4,400 members, with around 4,320 active members. The club has very limited slots that remain vacant hence making it difficult to make in. Big families of the city and prominent bureaucrats are associated with the club making the elections significant to the city.
