Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead today early morning outside a gurdwara located in the Model Town area of Jalandhar, Punjab. As per the information received Lucky was targeted by scooter-borne armed assailants who came and fired multiple rounds targeting him, after he was leaving the gurdwara after offering prayers.
Now another angle has emerged in the case where Lucky Oberoi’s murder plot has been linked to the brawl surrounding the appointment of the president of Khalsa College, Jalandhar. A post that has been making rounds on the internet gained traction after the news of Lucky Oberoi’s demise. In the post, ‘Sheru Group’ has talked about the ongoing dispute among them and said that when the president of Khalsa College Jalandhar was appointed, everyone was informed about the same. The post also mentions how now suddenly some people were demanding the presidency to be taken back. In another post by Jass Buttar, it is being claimed that the presidency of Khalsa College is decided every year by Sardar Nachhattar Singh in consultation with the Sheru Group.
Talking about the incident, former councilor Kuldeep Oberoi says that his nephew was involved in politics and every person involved in politics who does good work receives threat calls. He sheds light over the collage presidency dispute and shares that his nephew has contested for the presidency and helped the students. He claims that during that time, he was threatened and abused.
