Today again various prominent schools of Jalandhar received a bomb threat where schools, including Apeejay School, Police DAV School, Delhi Public School, MS School, SDA School, CJS Public School and Cambridge International School were among the ones targeted.
This was the second time that schools in Jalandhar were sent such a threat email this year, as earlier before PM Modi’s Jalandhar visit that was scheduled for February 1, similar bomb threat was made to many schools. That time Cambridge International CoEd School, Police DAV Public School, Cambridge Innovative School, IVY World School, C.T. Public School, LBS were on the list of targets.
The email received today was sent by a Khalistani outfit ‘Punjab hul Khalistan’, and mentions Hardeep Nijjar saying justice would be delivered to him. A similar pattern was observed in the mail received last time.
It is noteworthy, that last time the threat email was sent before PM Modi’s February 1 visit to Jalandhar and this time again, the mail was sent days before Home Minister Amit Shah’s Punjab visit on March 14. The email this time mentions Shah and Modi both as a prime target.
This is not the first time that such threat emails have come to light in Punjab and Chandigarh. There have been instances of such events in the past in cities such as Chandigarh, Patiala, Hoshiarpur etc where schools and other public bodies had received hoax bomb threats. In most cases, extensive search operations were conducted by the police, and nothing was found to be suspicious.
