The Punjab government has issued a fresh transfer order of three IAS officers with immediate effect. The most prominent transfer among all is of the 2009-batch IAS officer, Sonali Giri. Now as per the new orders now, Sonali Giri who was currently posted as the Managing Director, PUNSUP and in addition Administrative Secretary-cum-Director, Civil Aviation and in addition Secretary, Revenue & Rehabilitation is given the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, School Education and in addition Administrative Secretary, Higher Education & Languages. She will now take charge in the place of Anindita Mitra.
Sonali Giri, IAS, is a 2009-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Punjab cadre. Known for her strong academic background and administrative competence, she is regarded as a disciplined, reform-oriented officer with wide experience in public administration. Over the years, she has built a reputation for efficient governance, policy-driven decision-making, and a people-centric approach. She is also known for her professionalism, calm leadership style, and ability to handle complex administrative responsibilities with clarity and accountability, making her one of the trusted and respected senior bureaucrats in the Punjab administration.
This development comes after the IAS officer Anindita Mitra was recently given the charge of Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab-cum-Administrative Secretary, Elections (General Elections Wing) in place of Shri Sibin C., IAS.
