Know why the ED raided AAP MP Ashok Mittal’s Lovely Group

Searches at LPU, Gurgaon colleges linked to Ashok Kumar Mittal; 10 locations covered

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) headquarters investigation unit in Delhi on Wednesday conducted searches at multiple locations linked to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Kumar Mittal and his Lovely Group, in connection with a probe under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).

According to sources, the searches are being carried out at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, along with institutions in Gurgaon including Tetr College of Business and Masters’ Union College of Business.

Around 10 locations across Jalandhar and Gurgaon are being covered as part of the coordinated operation.

Premises linked to Ashok Mittal, who is the founder and Chancellor of Lovely Professional University and became a Rajya Sabha MP in 2022, are also under the scanner as part of the searches.

Officials said that all locations being covered are part of the same group, and the action is being carried out under FEMA provisions.

Further details regarding the nature of the alleged violations are awaited as the searches continue.
